Ways to Give
The various opportunities presented as ways to give may not be for everyone. Consult with your tax and financial advisors to understand the applications of any giving solution to your unique situation.
Cash Contributions
Emmaus Catholic Hospice accepts tax-exempt charitable cash contributions and provides an email and mailed receipt and year-end tax donation statement.
We at Emmaus Catholic Hospice will be prudent stewards of your investment as we accompany patients and their families on this sacred journey.
Appreciated Stock
Emmaus Catholic Hospice can benefit from your transfer of long-term appreciated securities including stock, bonds and mutual funds, allowing you to give 20 percent more than if you sold the stock and then made a cash donation — by avoiding capital gains taxes.
The maximum federal capital gains tax rate is 20 percent on long-term holdings.
Employer Matching Gifts
Employer’s matching gift programs are those in which matching gifts are tax-deductible contributions to employee and employer.
Check with your employer today and see if your gift to Emmaus Catholic Hospice can be matched. We are delighted to supply all of the documentation needed to confirm your gift for the matching gift programs.
Legacy Gifts
Planned gifts are charitable contributions that can result in tax and financial benefits to you as the donor. Learn the ways you can make a gift to Emmaus Catholic Hospice that can help you minimize estate taxes or enable you to pass assets to your heirs at reduced transfer costs.
IRA Distributions
After age 72 leveraging your IRA’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for a charitable gift with a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is a great way to lower your adjusted gross income (AGI) and a great way to benefit Emmaus Catholic Hospice.
Non-Cash Giving
Emmaus Catholic Hospice is able to accommodate gifts of many types of assets. You transfer part or all of your asset before the sale, thereby potentially reducing or eliminating capital gains taxes, and then the asset is liquidated at the right time.
Vehicle Donation
You can donate all vehicles — cars, trucks, vans, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, tractors, boats and trailers — running or not running.
Through our local partner, we work hard to ensure that the maximum funds are raised from your vehicle donation, so that your contribution makes the most impact for Emmaus Catholic Hospice. Keep in mind, as an added benefit to you, your contribution may be eligible for a charitable tax deduction.
All contributions are made with the understanding that Emmaus Catholic Hospice, a tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, has complete discretion over the use of the donated funds. Our tax ID is #84-0567786 and legal address is Emmaus Catholic Hospice, 5290 E. Yale Circle, Suite 100, Denver, CO 80222.
