Emmaus Catholic Hospice is again honored to receive the generous affirmation of commitment from Most Reverend Samuel J. Aquila, Archbishop of Denver (letter below).
With God’s grace, we continue to grow this Christ-centered, Catholic home hospice ministry. We recently welcomed our 75th patient and have a New Year goal to expand our service area.
As we provide dignified care to the dying and their families, we are deeply aware of our responsibility to God and to this community which anchors our ministry. We sincerely thank Archbishop Aquila for helping encourage our growth and reach, and we ask for your ongoing prayers and assistance. Please join us today as we provide Catholic home hospice care, support, and education that honors the dignity of each person we serve.

Dear Clergy and Faithful of the Archdiocese of Denver:
I am writing to provide an update on Emmaus Catholic Hospice and reaffirm my commitment for this growing apostolate. Born from one hundred years of Catholic healthcare in Colorado through Dominican Home Health, Emmaus Catholic Hospice officially welcomed their first patient in June 2023. As of this writing, Emmaus has been honored to comfort and provide care to 64 individuals, their families and loved ones.
Looking ahead to the new year and beyond, Emmaus Catholic Hospice is committed to continued growth and the welcoming of new patients and families. The hospice team currently serves a 20-mile radius from their administrative offices located at Yale and Interstate 25, with plans to expand both the exceptional care team and the service area in 2025.
Emmaus Catholic Hospice stands resolute as the only Catholic, non-profit home hospice provider in the Denver and metro area, dedicated to care centered in God and in full adherence with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services issues by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Through this focus, Emmaus Catholic Hospice upholds the dignity of human life at this very sacred time and rejects any form of assisted suicide or “medical aid in dying”.
Support for Emmaus Catholic Hospice and its ministry within the Archdiocese of Denver is wholeheartedly endorsed, with a prayerful request for assistance in expanding this Catholic home hospice mission through the parish. Engagement can take various forms, including pulpit announcements, bulletin inclusions, informational displays, or financial contributions. Such involvement in Emmaus Catholic Hospice will significantly enhance and fortify the celebration of life.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Samuel J. Aquila, S.T.L.
Archbishop of Denver
